Are moms a vital part of your customer base? You may want to consider using social media to reach them. Promo Xtra reports on new research from BabyCenter LLC, which runs several parenting Web and community sites. This study reports the number of moms using social media regularly has grown from 11%in 2006 to 63% today – that’s an increase of 462% in three years!
And, they’re somewhat particular where they “hang out” online. Although they may use sites like Facebook to socialize, they’ll more readily turn to content sites specifically focused to moms and parents (like BabyCenter) for information and counsel.
What does this mean to your business?
If you’re reaching out to moms, build your reputation as an expert in this arena by blogging about issues important to moms. Invite comments from regular readers. Offer special promotions to attract traffic.
And, set your email campaigns to arrive around naptime – that’s when most new moms can be found online (small wonder).
Whatever you do, make sure you’re building relationships. The union could last a lifetime.
