Video: Lake County Chamber Chili Cookoff 2009

by Carol Cole-Lewis on July 17, 2009

I thought I’d bring my video camera along to last Wednesday’s Lake County Chamber of Commerce Chili Cook-off. I shot this entirely with my Fujifilm FinePix F10 – a digital camera with a video setting. After I downloaded the movie clips onto my Apple G5, I then stitched them together using the Apple’s iMovie software that came free with my computer.

I’m going to borrow a line from John Steinbeck,”I’m sorry this letter is so long. I didn’t have time to write a short one,” as I just added the clips, threw in a few transitions and a title bar and rendered the movie – 20 minutes max. Then, 5 minutes to post to You Tube and here you are:

Competitors were Kenny Parlet of Lakeview Market, Leslie Firth of the Kitchen Gallery, and Tony Barthel of the Featherbed Railroad B&B. We all had a great time, and it was an excellent opportunity to network and get to meet other Chamber members in a relaxed setting.

That Kenny chili is good, good and easy to make. But then Tony’s Peanut Butter & Jelly Turkey Chili is very low fat. I want a re-match, but this time I’m going to add more heat, baby!
