Do you want a ton of function from your email list manager without paying an arm and a leg for it? Well, then you’ll love email marketing and email list management from MailChimp.
Here’s why MailChimp is so cool:
- It’s COMPLETELY FREE (no credit card required) for up to
- 500 subscribers
- 3000 emails a month
- Amazing tools to create stunning newsletters and email campaigns
- Simple enough for the novice and robust enough for the expert
- The ability to have as many subscriber lists as you like
- Great analytic tools
- One of the best delivery rates in the industry
- Auto-responders
- Twitter tracking
- RSS to Email (I use this feature to convert my blog posts into a weekly newsletter)
For those of you getting my newsletter, you’ll notice a new look and feel. This took me about 25 seconds to create. First, I selected the format of my newsletter, then uploaded a header logo (width of 600 pixels) to MailChimp. MailChimp then analyzed my logos colors and created the rest of the template design for me (they’ve sure got some smart simians behind the scenes…) I made a tweak or two, and I was done!
Another great feature of MailChimp is its API support. In English, you can share your data between MailChimp and other applications. For popular open-source programs (such as OSCommerce, WordPress and, very soon, Zoho), developers have already created interfaces between the program and MailChimp for you. If you’re using other programs with an API interface, you can “roll your own” or get someone to “roll it” for you.
The only drawback (if you call it that) is free accounts require the MailChimp logo at the bottom of every email. For me, I’m as happy as a barrel of monkeys to share MailChimp with others. I love the product and I clock up MonkeyRewards for everyone who pays for a MailChimp upgrade who found the site through me. Sweet!
I’ll be writing more reviews on MailChimp as I get more familiar with the service. How about you – have you tried MailChimp? What do you think?
