Believe it or not, I’ve found a useful Facebook application! Nutshellmail allows Facebook Page owners to put a tab on their Facebook page that gives visitors and fans the opportunity to sign up for e-mail updates.
Actually, Nutshell mail is more than this…it’s really a summary of user-selected Facebook “streams” (e.g., status updates, wall posts, tagged photos, group updates, news stream, etc.) sent to your email at intervals you decide.
I was pleasantly surprised with how easy Nutshellmail was to use. The sign-up process connecting my Facebook account and pages, my Twitter account, and my LinkedIn account was seamless. Remember to send yourself a few updates after you’ve completed the sign up process to make sure you’ve formatted your Nutshellmail to your liking.
Next, go to your Facebook Page and click on the “+” sign to the right of your Page’s tabs to add the “E-Mail Newsletter” tab to your Page’s menu bar. Visitors will then be able able to sign up for updates to your Page, as well as configure their Nutshellemail to receive updates from other pages as well.
At least now I’ll have half a chance at keeping up-to-date on pages I’m somewhat interested in, but haven’t found the time to look in on. And maybe, just maybe, my fans will do the same.
