I don’t like it when people shout at me. Do you?
So, don’t expect to be heard if all you’re doing is shouting at people to buy your “Stuff” from your website (…..or advertising, or brochures.) People have too much to do, too little time, and too much information to care.
If you’re like me, you’re FED UP with marketing. You wish there was a better way get your message out so people would know you’re there, come find you, and buy.

Quick Marketing Tip: Make Your File Names Meaningful

Did you ever download a .pdf file from a website that had an almost meaningless filename? For instance, I just downloaded a signup form for a conference I want to attend. The document is titled “register.pdf”. In a few days, I’ll be asking myself when I look at that file “Register for what?”
When you create a file to send to others, make the file name meaningful to them – not meaningful to you. This goes for invoices, job resumes, online brochures, christmas letters to your family and friends, and whatever else you’re not keeping just for your own benefit.
It not only makes good marketing sense (because people will be able to find you more quickly and easily), it’s just plain downright polite and good manners.
