About

(Here’s our showcase and  kudos.)

I don’t like it when people shout at me. Do you?

So, don’t expect to be heard if all you’re doing is shouting at people to buy your “Stuff” from your website (…..or advertising, or brochures.) People have too much to do, too little time, and too much information to care.

If you’re like me, you’re FED UP with marketing. You wish there was a better way get your message out so people would know you’re there, come find you, and buy.

There is a better way.  I call it “Authentic Conversation.” Authentic Conversation is a return to the basics: Establish trust. Build relationship. Then, ask for permission to engage your audience.

So how does one “Establish Trust” and “Build Relationship?” I believe you need two things:

  • “Authenticity”
    and
  • “Transparency”

Without these two elements, karma will get you (for you get what you give.) Also, these elements are the foundation for any sustainable organization. And, it’s important to note these elements are the hallmarks of successful participation in social media.

The challenge social media is currently facing is getting participants to move from the old style of “Telling” marketing to the new “Authentic Conversation.” I desire to ease you through this transition process.

Here on my blog, in my classes and through my consulting services, I’ll help you to reveal the true brand and passion that is Your Business. I’ll also show you how you can seamlessly blend your off-line and on-line communications to support each other and establish Authentic Conversation.

Why do I do this? To enable you and your company to be what it needs to be; to reach those people it needs to reach; and to fill you with joy, energy and passion every morning you wake up and think about going to work.

There are many “Social Media Gurus” out there who can tell you how to write a blog, or how to get more Facebook friends. My main aim is to get you to create Authentic Conversation and to develop and implement an Internet and Social Media Marketing plan that’s based on the above principles. This, I believe, is the key to business success.

Join me in conversation here on my blog and through my newsletter. Together, let’s BE the change we want to see in the world, so we do more than survive – we thrive.

Dear Carol,

Our mutual friend David Smith, of Ukiah, CA, has referred me to you. I am exploring a run for Congress and need to build my campaign, which will be primarily virtual. I was hoping I could talk David out of some of his time, but unfortunately he has lost his head to music (great, really) !

So, I would like to tell you a little about myself. I lived in Mendocino County for 25 yrs. before being lured by my husband to rural Kansas. Our current Congresswomen, Lynn Jenkins, has recently made the national news with her proclamation that the GOP is seeking the next “Great White Hope.”

I am a progressive Democrat. The district is split, Independents always choose the winner. The district holds the bounty of Kansas universities and has great potential for building a strong online campaign.

I have no money and expect to raise little during the primary season. Should I win the primary money will flood in to oust the GOP contender, and there will be national attention on the general election. As a progressive, I don’t expect to win-I expect to raise issues and consciousness, but in politics one never knows till the final vote is counted. I also believe that “the process” of building a campaign is as important, if not more important, then “winning.”

I will be studying the wealth of information on your webs site and look forward to your reply.

Sincerely,
Cheryl A. Hudspeth
