Below you’ll find links to many of the tools and web resources I use and love.
(NOTE: I am an affiliate marketer of any tool marked with an “*”.)

Internet Marketing Consulting & Coaching
– Receive a weekly summary of all my blog posts every Friday.

Favorite Bloggers
Seth Godin – Seth is the god of permission-based marketing and is my source of inspiration for this website.

Favorite Blogging Software
(for hosted blog) or (for self-hosted blogs) – Why? WordPress has a wide assortment of great theme designs you can choose from, it’s easy to use, has an active and supportive user community, and offers an excellent administrative interface. I must warn you, though – you’ve still got a learning curve to overcome if you’re going to put up your own site using any software tool, including WordPress – if you’re committed, your efforts will be well-rewarded.

Favorite Website Development Tool* – I used to build all my websites in WordPress until I discovered Weebly. It’s a snap to use, and, if you’ve got all your content ready, you can put up a simple website in an hour or so. Even non-geeks will find this user-friendly. The free version is useful for most of the sites you’ll build.

Favorite WordPress Theme
Thesis by DIYThemes*. With Thesis, you can build a great looking website lickety-split that has access to all the wonderful features WordPress has to offer. Want two columns? Three columns? Menu bar above your header? Header image? Whatever you want, it doesn’t matter – you can easily try a wide variety of looks on the fly and change them quickly and easily to suit your needs. You’ll look like you’ve been a website designer all your life with a site built using Thesis.

And, don’t forget to install the Thesis Openhook widget in WordPress. It makes Thesis even easier to use, and it’s free!

(Yes, I designed this site using Thesis.)

Favorite Auto Responders
* – I’ve been using Aweber forever because of the number of features you get at an affordable price: You get an unlimited number of autoresponder followup messages, and an unlimited number of mailing lists and newsletters! And, you can even automatically send out a summary of your blog postings to subscribers.

Mailchimp* – I’m in love!! This email program has to be the best little email marketing program around. It’s simple enough for the beginner, and robust enough for an API samurai. And, there’s a great plug-in for WordPress that makes signing up for your email list a snap, and additional features that allow recipients to share your e-mail campaigns with their social media sites. The best part? It’s FREE (for lists up to 2000 members and 12000 sends per month. More than this, you have a choice depending on your needs – pay as you go, or monthly.) Plus, YOU get $30 in Monkey Reward credits for signing up from my link. In fact, I’ve migrated my aWeber list over to Mailchimp…

Favorite Website/Blog Host Provider
* – Great value, great user interface, tons of included software (including WordPress blogging software). I’ve used Startlogic for years. If I am setting up (and maintaining) your site for you, you’ll be using this service.

Favorite Books from Amazon*
Social Media Marketing: An Hour a Day – by Dave Evans. This is a book for people with a marketing background wanting to produce a complete social media plan that will stand up to the scrutiny of any corporate marketing department. Even if you don’t need to convince corporate higher-ups of the need for a social media plan, this book is incredibly complete and a great tool for learning the finer points of social media marketing.

Getting Everything You Can Out of All You’ve Got – by Jay Abraham. Simply one of the best sources for uncovering hidden gold mines within your business. Start here and answer the questions Jay asks in this book to begin the creation of your offline and online marketing plan. I’d let you borrow my copy, but it’s dog-eared and tattered from regular use. The best $12 you’ll ever spend!

Favorite Socially Responsible and Sustainability Sites
